A Preposition is a word which is placed before a noun or a pronoun, noun-equivalent or other words to show its relation to some other word/words in the sentence. It shows place, position, time and method. Pre- পূর্বে এবং Position - অবস্থান। অর্থাৎ যে word Noun, Pronoun বা noun সমতুল্য পদে বা অন্য পদের পূর্বে বসে বা অবস্থান করে সেই noun বা noun-equivalent পদের সঙ্গে অপর word -এর সম্পর্ক বোঝায় বা প্রকাশ করে, তাকে Preposition বলে। স্থান, পাত্র, কাল ও পদ্ধতিও দেখিয়ে থাকে । In English some words like noun, verb and adjective take a particular preposition after it.
